[ the words escape, one after the other. terrible barbs, clawing desperately out of his throat and tumbling from his lips. he can feel the bile, the cruelty, like ink drying on a page. a new truth being written, born of lies and love. and through it all, that terrible sound, that scream of cicadas and mosquitos and beetles and flies, radiates through the room. they gather around him, a dark cloud like a thunderstorm preparing to unleash.
he laughs, one last lie slipping out before he is covered completely- ]
