[ This is easily the worst part. Not because it's hard to watch him lose - though that certainly isn't pleasant - but because she feels like she's intruding. She shouldn't be seeing any of this. Especially not after the fall from the ship. Those aren't words for anyone else but here she is, eavesdropping all the same. She really is the worst.
And yet at the same time... something about it is soothing to hear. A balm to a stinging bruise she hadn't even realised was there until the pain let up. A fairy tale some foolish girl made up, just so she could try and have somewhere to belong, even if it had to be a story. Even if she had to lie with everything she had.
